They’re baaaack….Billions of cicadas are coming up in 2024 across the USA. It’s going to be a big deal in some areas. Periodical cicadas rise in cycles of either every 13 years or every 17 years. In 2024, BOTH 13 “year’ers” and 17 “year’ers” are emerging! They’ll likely rise up in May or early June, and maybe as early as April in warmer southern states. So let’s take advantage of these little buggers and make a good meal out of them! There’s many different ways to cook ’em (we have a guide to cooking cicadas here), but we think they’ll taste best when you use our organic cicada seasoning. It’s a medium-hot Cajun-style mix with a touch of sweetness (a few dashes of our popular pumpkin pie spice). Organic Ingredients: Sea salt, cayenne, paprika, garlic, onion, oregano, thyme, pumpkin pie spice, sumac, nutmeg (No, cicadas are not included. Those you’ll have to hunt for yourself.)
