Received this as a mystery spice and wow! Honey Chipotle is one of my favorite flavors and has been for a long time, so I was really happy to see this spice picked out for me– what a perfect addition to my order! It is pretty spicy– I know that spiciness tends to be relative from person to person. As somebody who enjoys a good medium spicy, I would say that this is a bit hotter than medium. However, the heat is well-balanced by the subtle sweetness of the honey, and I think that it could easily be adjusted to minimize the spiciness, if so desired. Personally, I’m going to try it as a dry rub for oven baked chicken wings, and I’m also looking forward to using it as a base for homemade barbecue sauce. I do think it would be an excellent spice base for homemade Sloppy Joes, too.
