Description Equicast Wood Therapeutic Shoe’s Equicast Wood Therapeutic Shoe’s designed from solid wood were based on the original designs by Dr. Mike Steward’s laminitis Clogs. Used to help resolve problems from laminitis, white line disease, broken coffin bones, founder, long toe or low heel syndrome which can all benefit from the unique multi directional leverage reducing design. Specifically designed to provide M/L stability and protection to the whole hoof, yet still allowing for the material to wear some over time to accommodate the horse’s comfort level. The shoe comes complete with 1/8″ of sole relief cut out to accommodate for a prolapsed sole, plus a leather rim piece to provide even more clearance. Fitting can be achieved using Equicast, glue or screws to create a secure hold on the hoof. For best results use screws to initially secure the shoe to the foot. Once the shoe has been attached to the hoof, the TFP Impression Material is applied around the back of the hoof from the widest part to the widest part, then stretch Handy Wrap 100mm over the impression material and let cure for about 5 minutes. EDSS/TFP Impression Material Once the DIM has cured, remove the stretch Handy Wrap 100mm and cast the hoof and shoe with Equicast® hoof casting.
