We are so excited to offer these chili flakes that we source from small farms in Tunisia. Baklouti chilies are traditionally used in Harissa (and are in our organic Harissa), and are traditionally grown in Northern Africa where they are an essential ingredient. These chili flakes have quite a bit of heat and a very sweet undertone that is reminiscent of dried cherries. The heat lasts for a good amount of time but is not overwhelming. They mix well with olive oil, and will work great in marinades, sauces, on top of pizza and of course in harissa. We also carry more traditional Crushed Red Chili Flakes that we source from Sri Lanka.
