WOW!! Initially I purchased this “Blackened” Spice Mix, because I wanted to spice up my peanuts that I roast with a “Cajun-Style” Mix like I’ve had in the past, so this was a nice addition to my peanuts. I only tried it a few times with the roasted peanuts, but I wasn’t sold on it then(I will need to experiment more with them, when I get more peanuts). A few weeks later I decided to try it out on my meal one night and I was blown away. This mix has a very “Light” taste to it, and what I mean by that is it is a very “Refreshing,” non-rich, non-heavy taste/favor. This is compared to a “Heavier,” spice mix such as a many of the Indian curry/masala mixes, or even the Chili Powder mix, which are more “Heavier,” and “Richer” to me in flavors and taste. More “Rich.” Like a heavy, rich, brownie. It isn’t to say that this Blackened mix isn’t flavorful or isn’t strong, as I’m constantly tasting the celery seed in the mix… It’s just that the taste of this mix just gives off a very “refreshing” and light flavor to it, if that makes sense.
